We all have times in our lives when it might be helpful to share our concerns with someone outside our situation. Perhaps you feel counselling could be helpful for you?
I work with both individuals and couples, for an agreed, appropriate period of time which we will review regularly. As an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, I can help you to enhance your life and your relationships, working within a supportive, trusting relationship.
Our initial meeting consists of a free half hour assessment where we look at the issues concerning you and decide whether we would be comfortable working together. Following this would be a charged hour where we consider the direction and timescale for subsequent sessions and begin our counselling work together.
Our sessions will last for a minimum of one hour but I am able to offer flexibility and longer sessions if this would be helpful. Within that hour I will encourage and support you to gain a clear understanding of your present situation and consider possible ways of moving forward with your life.
Issues covered in counselling can include; depression, anxiety and panic, stress, illness, bereavement, problems at work, difficulties in relationships, sexuality, anger, confusion, effects of abuse, making changes and coping with difficult situations that arise in life.
I work with a variety of approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), utilizing whatever will work best for each individual client. I have a calm and positive temperament, and am committed to providing a high quality of service to clients.
My Counselling Practice is in the centre of Ely, where I am able to provide a safe, relaxing and confidential atmosphere. I am within easy reach of the surrounding villages, and of Cambridge. I am close to the borders of Norfolk and Suffolk, 10 miles from Newmarket on the A142.
